Why are you not DRIVING?

For an average family, the child gets their driving license at the age of 17-18. (Sorry I do not remember isit 17 or 18, but some kids started to drive to college at the age of 18)

Why am I not driving?

I got my license at the age of 22. I got my very own car at the age of 27.

When I'm 22. We have only one family car. Proton Sage old version, its already an old man car by that time. Dad got it at RM1.8k (if I'm not mistaken) 
Yup, the only car at home. 

If I were to start driving just after I got my license, driving will become a thing that kena incorporate in my life. Like, I have to drive to here and there, I want to drive to here and there. 

Driving is an addiction, to some people. After they get their license, wherever they go they want to drive. No public transport. Just drive. 

Reasons I didn't even think of driving after I get my license.
(1) We have only one family car, if I get into an accident, how are we going to go out without a car?
(2) I was not working back then(still in college, having part time, making barely enough to spend on myself.) If the car is destroyed, mom will ask for money. For sure. Where do I get the money. How long do I need to go without any pocket money for food. How much blame will be put on my shoulder. “mun mun,做什么不要等长大一点先才学开车，daddy只有一辆车罢了”
(3) What if I scratches others cars? Where do I get the money to compensate them?
(4) What about petrol? “阿妹，你星期六开了daddy的车没有打油”

My whole childhood, even my teenage year, has been limited by the word "poor"

为什么别人又不会？别人又没有这样？

Well, maybe 别人 has got a supportive parents that does not ask for money if shit happens, and will be there to protect them when shit goes wrong. Us? well, I couldn't think of any time that my parents got my back. The only time when they show a little supporting is when I graduated my Degree and worked in an audit firm. And they said something like, encouraging me to change my job, come back home for a while? bla bla bla. 

Asian family does not tolerate with character weakness. 
You're depressed? You're weak. You're this and that, you're lazy. You're useless. You're not like who's who's who's child. 

Why am I not driving at the age of 30?

Let me guess
(1) I am lazy
(2) I do not have that much courage like a teenager to drive
(3) I am not fearless
(4) I still do not have any money to pay for whatever shit that I might cause on the road.
(5) I am stupid
